I like this picture of a wall painting of Shah Abbas for the lattice -pattern or quincunx patterned carpet he kneels on. And the line of dancing girls at the front.

According to the psychologist C.G.Jung coincidence, i.e. seeing Quincunxes everywhere occurs when the archetypes are activated!
ReplyDeleteThis simple 2 - 1 - 2 pattern can be seen even in brick-work.
Visual artists in particular seem to experience a curious empathy towards Browne's discernment of the Platonic Forms in Art and Nature.
